ECW (September 29, 2009)

I’m going back to the WWECW well with the September 29, 2009 episode of the show. They’re somewhere in Boston, MA this week and the awful announce duo of Matt Striker and Josh Mathews are, as always, on the call. Let’s go get…mildly extreme. Do they still get extreme in ECW?

ECW Hardcore TV (November 29, 1994)

I guess because I watched a couple episodes of WWECW on YouTube, the ol’ YouTube algorithm has decided to start autoplaying other ECW stuff after videos I watch so today we’ve got a random-ass episode of ECW from back when it was an upstart wrestling promotion in Philadelphia or whatever euphamism WWF and WCW used to use when talking about it in the 90s. This is the November 29, 1994 installment of Hardcore TV (which the show might not even actually be called at this point). I’ve never seen this episode before since I didn’t start watching ECW until 1995 and only made it about halfway through 1994 the last time I got on an ECW kick so let’s see what sort of wildness we’ve got here.

ECW (September 22, 2009)

I’ve decided to stay on the WWE ECW tip and check out some more episodes. Today we’re taking a look at the September 22, 2009 episode emanating from Tulsa, Oklahoma. The godawful duo of Josh Mathews and Matt Striker are on the call and tonight in the main event we’ll see Christian defending the ECW Championship against the #1 contender, Zack Ryder.

ECW (September 15, 2009)

I randomly stumbled upon a mess of WWE ECW episodes up on WWE’s YouTube channel and have decided to check some out from the period where it was less an ECW revival and more a proto-NXT to get folks ready for “the main roster.” Why am I watching these? Well, I think hour long wrestling shows are the best sort of wrestling shows and by and large 2009-2010 is probably the period I’ve seen the least amount of wrestling of any sort from and since these ECW episodes tick those two boxes I figured why not? Anyway here are words about the September 15, 2009 episode of ECW.

WWE vs. ECW Head to Head (June 7, 2006)

Another day, another completely random wrestling show. Today we’re taking a look at WWE vs. ECW Head to Head, an event that served as a prelude to the 2006 edition of ECW One Night Stand and the revival of ECW as a brand under the stewardship of WWE.

YouTube’s algorithm has figured out exactly the kind of bullshit wrestling content I’m into and offered up this ECW TV pilot from 1992 (November 28, 1992 if online sources are to be believed) so let’s get down to it.

Decided to go back and review another show that I’d previously reviewed a single match from so tonight we’re getting extreme as I check out an episode of ECW from the WWE revival era. Let the bodies hit the floor…

ECW (October 31, 2006)

Halloween’s just around the corner so I figured I’d watch something Halloweeny in celebration. For whatever reason I decided to check out this random episode of ECW from Halloween night 2006. Let’s get extremely spooky!

ECW Hardcore Heaven ’95 (July 1, 1995)

This is a show I’d heard a lot about back in the day when I was into real sleazy garbage wrestling and shit like that because of the Taipei Deathmatch but I’d never actually seen it until I got the WWE Network and watched it, which automatically makes it 90% less sleazy than it would have been if I’d traded a 3rd generation tape of the Big Japan Supermarket Deathmatch for a dubbed copy of this, but whatever. Let’s get extreme!

ECW Hardcore TV (April 2, 1996)

I got a request to review the main event from this episode of Hardcore TV and figured that it’s been awhile since I looked at mid-90s ECW so I might as well just watch the entire episode. So here it is, the April 2, 1996 installment of Hardcore TV, which I believe was filmed the day before.

We start the show with Joey Styles in the ring welcoming us to the beautiful ECW Arena and tells us that they’ve got an outstanding hour of wrestling planned tonight.
