YouTube’s algorithm has figured out exactly the kind of bullshit wrestling content I’m into and offered up this ECW TV pilot from 1992 (November 28, 1992 if online sources are to be believed) so let’s get down to it.

WWF Superstars (August 8, 1992)
I’m taking a brief break from the 2010 game show version of NXT to dive into an episode of WWF Superstars from 1992. Why would I watch such a thing I hear some of you ask? I’d reviewed a single match from this particular episode some time ago and as part of my ongoing effort to replace all single match reviews with full length reviews of the show said match originated from I’ve decided to check this one out so let’s get to it.

Today, for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend, I decided to watch an episode of WWF Wrestling Challenge from 1992. I could make up some story about how I want to fill in some gaps in my WWE reviews here and since I’d not reviewed a single show from 1992 decided to check this one out but that would be a lie. The truth is, this was randomly on YouTube and was only like 40 minutes long so I decided to watch it while folding laundry because early 90s WWF television is the very definition of background noise so let’s check it out!

Today we’re going to take a look at the inaugural episode of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. I’ve reviewed some random episodes from later in this promotion’s run, but it looks like the entire thing is up on YouTube so I might as well start at the very beginning (a very good place to start, or so I’ve been told).
The promotion was formed by Jim Cornette in “October 1991 upon leaving World Championship Wrestling with Stan Lane, Tim Horner and Sandy Scott. The promotion was backed financially by music producer Rick Rubin. The first events and TV tapings were held in October and November 1991. Matches from these shows were first shown in February 1992.” [1]

I’ve kind of fallen in love with Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and since there’s a ton of it up on YouTube in these our modern times, I’ve decided to check out some more of it. Today we’re going to be taking a look the July 25, 1992 episode for one reason and one reason only. Some time back I saw a squash match where Brian Lee wrecked shop on a Nazi that came from this particular episode and I really wanted to see if there was any other context for that match existing that wasn’t a part of the standalone match I saw. So away we go.

Time for another look at an hour of “Professional wrestling the way it used to be, and the way you like it!” Today we’re taking a look at the December 26, 1992 episode of Smoky Mountain Wrestling coming to us live from Clairfield, Tennessee.

I’ve been on a bit of an old school rasslin’ kick as of late and decided to randomly watch an episode of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, specifically the December 19, 1992 episode. I figure if any episode is going to have some holiday related bullshit it’s this one.

Time for some early 90s Japanese garbage wrestling! Today we’re looking at Wrestling International New Generations, better known as W*ING, specifically the We Love W*ING show from December 20, 1992.
