IWA Japan Kawasaki Dream (August 20, 1995)

While 1995 was possibly one of the worst years for professional wrestling in the United States, over in Japan it was a different story and wrestling was maybe the hottest it had ever been. One need look no further than the fact that even sleazy as fuck deathmatch promotions were able to fill baseball stadiums to see just how big wrestling was in Japan in the mid-90s.

IWA Japan Wrestling House! Domestic Violence Deathmatch (May 18, 1995)

It’s been a while since I’ve watched sleazy Japanese deathmatch shit from the mid-90s so here’s a review of a 1995 tape from IWA Japan. I’m pretty sure that this tape was released by the same company that put out the Bathhouse Deathmatch tape, the tape where Yumi Fukawa fights people in the street and at a waterslide park, and that Big Japan Supermarket Deathmatch thing. Looking at those tapes you might see something of a pattern as they all have wrestling matches unfold in venues that one would not expect a wrestling match to break out. This tape is no exception as it features a wrestling match in a house in a suburban neighborhood. Let’s check it out!

IWA Japan Shin-FMW Tarzan Goto in Bathhouse Wrestling (August 21, 1995)

Between my quest to watch every episode of WWE’s short lived show for kids, Saturday Morning Slam and my biweekly forays into WCW Nitro from the year 2000, I’ve watched a lot of ridiculous shit as of late, but it’s been a hot minute since I’ve reviewed any Japanese garbage wrestling from the mid-90s so I think I should probably rectify that. Today we’re looking at a tape from IWA Japan featuring the infamous bathhouse deathmatches. Yes deathmatches…there are more than one.
