WWF Raw Bowl (January 1, 1996)

I decided to mix things up a bit and watch a match that I heard spoken about alongside nonsense like the Kennel from Hell match when people talk about all-time stupid gimmick matches but never actually seen: the first (and last) Raw Bowl. It’s New Generation Era WWF so I don’t have particularly high hopes for any of this but the entire episode is like 45 minutes minus commercials so who really cares.

TNA Destination X 2005 (March 13, 2005)

So I continue my foray into being a guy who only watches IMPACT Wrestling today with a look at Destination X 2005 coming to us live from the IMPACT Zone in Orlando, Florida. I think I’m going to go through the random IMPACT shows that are available in full on IMPACT’s YouTube channel along with the random stuff of questionable legality I have on an external hard drive in chronological order and this one seems to be the oldest one that I’ve not reviewed already so it seems as good a place as any to start so let’s get to it.

WWF Raw Is War (December 7, 1998)

Time to get back on track and finish up my Raw ’98 deep dive. The previous week’s episode kind of sucked ass as it leaned WAAAAY too hard into the sports entertainment Vince Russo bullshit. This week’s episode is pre-taped so maybe it will feature a bit more actual wrestling but it’s also the go home show for Rock Bottom so who the fuck knows. Let’s just get this over with…

WWF Osaka Mania (May 9, 1994)

It’s Royal Rumble season as since the WWE Network’s cheap as free tier only has Rumbles I’ve seen already and have no real desire to revisit available, I’ve decided to go elsewhere for my guys throwing other guys out of the ring fix…specifically Osaka, Japan on May 9, 1994. It turns out that during a tour of Japan in 1994 the WWF decided to have an 18-man Royal Rumble match close out the show in Osaka and as someone in the crowd filmed the entire show with a camcorder I am able to watch in some 28 years after the fact so let’s get down to it.

WWF Raw Is War (November 9, 1998)

I’m going to be honest with you folks, I’m getting real sick and tired of the Attitude Era. I want like a single goddamn match that ends with someone just pinning someone else or maybe making them tap out. Heck, a knockout would be perfectly fine. These past few episodes have been most of Vince Russo’s worst booking tendencies (there’s been surprisingly little outright sexism in the last few episodes thankfully but all the others are in full effect) and honestly it’s becoming a bit of a chore to get through. His style of booking has caused me to not give a shit about pretty much anyone except Mankind, The Rock, and Stone Cold Steve Austin since everyone either has to cheat to win or ends up getting repeatedly murdered by Kane week after week. It’s very repetitive and very boring. Thankfully I’ve got seven episodes left including this one (I reviewed one of the December ’98 episodes already and won’t be watching it again) so I might as well just wrap this nonsense up. Let’s take a look at the November 9, 1998 episode of Raw Is War…
