NWA Into the Fire (December 14, 2019)

I think this year I’m going to just work on clearing out the random hard drive of assorted wrestling crap I’ve accumulated over the years but never actually watched. I don’t plan on watching too much new stuff or using YouTube for wrestling crap. If I feel like watching wrestling I’m going to have to find something on that there hard drive to watch. Today I’m kicking things off with NWA Into the Fire from back in 2019.

When NWA first came back I was honestly pretty high on it. I dug that there was a wrestling promotion that was going for the studio wrestling vibe and focused more on promos than in-ring acumen. I loved the weird, at times almost Adult Swim-esque nature of some of the stuff that happened and I even was into the roster but then COVID happened and they lost a lot of momentum and then most of the folks I liked in the NWA got signed to AEW or IMPACT. They eventually came back but Billy Corgan got up his own ass about stuff and now a barely mobile Brodus Clay is the NWA World Heavyweight Champion for no goddamn reason and Nick Aldis is a free agent. But that’s now. This show…this show is their first PPV from when I still thought they were pretty good so let’s check it out.

IMPACT Wrestling / ROW Deep Impact (July 6, 2019)

My haphazard attempt at being a wrestling fan whose primary promotion is IMPACT Wrestling continues with this random 2019 show that they co-promoted with Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion out of Houston, Texas and I found up on the ROW YouTube page in full. The show took place at the World Gym Arena on the night before Slammiversary 2019. Here are some words about it.

DDT All Out x Sendai Girls’ Pro Wrestling (June 24, 2019)

DDT - All Out x Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling

I’ve gotten really into DDT as of late since it’s got everything I want in a professional wrestling company all under one roof…or several roofs if you count their subsidiary companies as separate roofs. Anyway today we’re taking a look at a show from 2019 pitting DDT’s All Out stable against a team representing Sendai Girls in a series of matches to determine which group rules the most ass. Let’s check it out!

DDT Pool Wrestling in Sumida Sports Health Center (June 19, 2019)

DDT Pool Wrestling 2019

It’s currently what in my mind is peak summertime though it doesn’t really feel like it on account of the entire world being fucked over with a plague so I’ve decided to look a lot a wrestling show that feels summery. I could have gone with a SummerSlam or a Bash at the Beach but have instead decided to take a look at last year’s DDT show Pool Wrestling 2019 in Sumida Sports Health Center.

NWA Powerrr (December 23, 2019)

NWA Powerrr Logo

It’s time for another all action episode of NWA Powerrr. With Christmas just around the corner what sort of holiday hijinks will the men and women get up to in an episode titled, “Not a Christmas Movie,” that features a YouTube thumbnail of what appears to be Eli Drake and Jocephus belting out Christmas carols? Let’s check it out to see!

NWA Powerrr (December 3, 2019)

NWA Powerrr Logo

I’ve finally gotten all caught up with NWA Powerrr as this is the last episode before their PPV this weekend, Into the Fire. After a bunch of hoopla a couple weeks ago over casual racism and a recap show that might have been because of a major American holiday or might have been due to the aforementioned casual racism will this week see a return to form or are we going to have to wait until the next set of tapings before NWA Powerrr undergoes a Warren G. Harding style, “return to normalcy?” Let’s find out!

NWA Powerrr (November 26, 2019)

In the time since the last episode of NWA Powerrr and this episode aired, Jim Cornette left the company and the powers that be apologized for “accidentally” allowing some racist nonsense to make it to air on a show that had been taped two months earlier. A bajillion think-pieces were written and a million podcasters discussed the issue. So let’s see how NWA Powerrr follows all that up.
