NWA:TNA Weekly PPV #53 (July 16, 2003)

I continue to haphazardly make my way through IMPACT Wrestling’s 20 year history with another one of their weekly PPVs, specifically the July 16, 2003 show from the Asylum in Nashville, Tennessee. Don’t know anything about it save for the fact that it’s about a month after the one year anniversary show I watched a few weeks back.

MLW Underground #21 (September 1, 2003)

I couldn’t find the episode of MLW Underground that was supposed to have Raven teaming with Norman Smiley against Michael Shane and CM Punk but I did find this episode which apparently features Jerry Lawler coming into the promotion to try and collect a bounty on Terry Funk. It’s only 50 minutes long so I figured why not? The matches here were taped at MLW’s Summer Apocalypse show on August 22, 2003 at the St. Petersburg Coliseum in St. Petersburg, Florida.

MLW Underground #14 (July 7, 2003)

So I guess I’m an MLW guy now for no real reason and since I’m now an MLW guy I’ve decided to go back and revisit the early days of the promotion before they shut down for 13 years and reopened as the company it is today. Today we’re taking a look at MLW Underground TV from July 7, 2003. All the matches on this particular episode were apparently taped on June 20, 2003 at MLW’s Hybrid Hell show at the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

WWE Heat (April 27, 2003)

WWE Heat Logo 2002-2008

I’ve decided to check out the episode of Heat that preceded that random Backlash I watched the other day just to put a bow on the entire thing. It’s a Heat before a PPV so I don’t expect a lot out of it beyond a single match that no one gives a shit about and a bunch of video packages to try and entice us into ordering the show. Let’s get down to it!

WWE Backlash (April 27, 2003)

WWE Backlash 2003

I went digging through the cheap as free version of the WWE Network the other night to see if they had any old shit available since the bulk of what’s up is COVID Era empty arena shows from a month or two back and to be honest, it’s not doing much for. Fortunately they had for reasons unknown to me a number of seemingly arbitrary Backlash PPVs up for those of us who are cheapskates. Among those Backlashes was the 2003 edition of the show, so that’s what we’re reviewing here today.
