MLW Azteca (January 20, 2022)

I had some stuff going on the past couple weeks and didn’t have a ton of time for wrestling so I fell a bit behind on MLW Azteca but have more or less gotten caught back up so here are words about the January 20, 2022 episode.

MLW Underground #21 (September 1, 2003)

I couldn’t find the episode of MLW Underground that was supposed to have Raven teaming with Norman Smiley against Michael Shane and CM Punk but I did find this episode which apparently features Jerry Lawler coming into the promotion to try and collect a bounty on Terry Funk. It’s only 50 minutes long so I figured why not? The matches here were taped at MLW’s Summer Apocalypse show on August 22, 2003 at the St. Petersburg Coliseum in St. Petersburg, Florida.

MLW Azteca (January 13, 2022)

MLW has held my attention for the better part of a week now so I’m back to check out the second episode of MLW Azteca. The premiere episode was a bit uneven but not a bad hour of cheap as free wrestling on the ol’ YouTube. If this week’s episode can build on what they started last time I’ll be happy. So let’s head down Mexico for some wrestling action!

MLW Underground #14 (July 7, 2003)

So I guess I’m an MLW guy now for no real reason and since I’m now an MLW guy I’ve decided to go back and revisit the early days of the promotion before they shut down for 13 years and reopened as the company it is today. Today we’re taking a look at MLW Underground TV from July 7, 2003. All the matches on this particular episode were apparently taped on June 20, 2003 at MLW’s Hybrid Hell show at the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

MLW Azteca (January 6, 2022)

After watching Battle Riot III the other day I’ve decided that I’m going to start following MLW a bit this year since they’ve got shows on YouTube and have seemingly become the sequel to Lucha Underground which brings me to this show. As part of their quasi-Lucha Underground sequel status, MLW has just kicked off a new series, MLW Azteca, which is the show I’m reviewing here.

MLW Battle Riot III (July 24, 2021)

It’s January which means it’s Royal Rumble season and there’s nothing I want to watch more than dudes making staggered entrances and attempting to throw each other out of a wrestling ring. Unfortunately for me the Rumble offerings on the cheap as free tier of the WWE Network are all mediocre Rumbles I’ve already seen and I’ll be damned if I’m going to give WWE money again anytime soon. Luckily for me MLW has there own take on the Royal Rumble up in full on YouTube so I’m going to watch that instead.
