Why am I watching Unforgiven 1999? Because I’m a glutton for punishment and want to watch all the matches that won the Wrestling Observer’s Worst Match of the Year Award and this one has the infamous Kennel From Hell match, which apparently was the worst professional wrestling match of 1999, that’s why! So let’s get our attitudes on and check it out!

I’ve decided to take a look back at Badd Blood: In Your House. This is the PPV that gave us the first ever Hell in a Cell match as well as the debut of Kane. It was also, unfortunately, overshadowed by the unexpected death of Brian Pillman, which was discovered several hours before the show took place.
I watched this live on PPV back in the day, but outside of the three things I’ve mentioned I have no memory of anything that took place on this show. So let’s check it out and see what sort of hidden classics I’ve forgotten about since 1997.

Welcome everyone to Monday Night Raw coming to you live from the Manhattan Center with your hosts Good Ol’ JR and Jerry “The King” Lawler. We’ve got the old wailing siren of yore and the entire thing is set up like an episode of Raw from 1993, complete with an ICOPRO banner.
Lawler promises that this will be the most memorable Raw ever. It would turn out that he was either gravely mistaken or outright lying…

Time for more early 90s WCW! Time for Main Event! Our hosts for the evening are the tandem of Jim Ross and Missy Hyatt. JR explains that things are really heating up between “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair and the biggest man in sports today, El Gigante. Oh fuck…

We begin things with a brief video that gives us a rundown of the main matches on the card before heading to the Civic Center in Augusta, GA where we are joined by our hosts for the evening Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone. They talk about what’s going on tonight and then throw it to their broadcast colleagues who are standing about ten feet away from them.
Eric Bischoff, Missy Hyatt and Paul E. Dangerously talk about what they will be doing during the Clash. Missy Hyatt is apparently still on her quest to interview a dude in the locker room and promises an interview with the World Heavyweight Champion, Lex Luger. Paul E. is going to interview the man who will challenge Luger for the title at Halloween Havoc, “The All-American” Ron Simmons. Bischoff then throws it over to the ring announcer to get the Clash underway with the first match of the evening.

With William “Steven” Regal recently announcing a WarGames match for the upcoming NXT pay per view special I decided to go back and watch some old WarGames matches to get me super excited. Since I’d also been randomly watching WCW from 1991 it made sense for me to watch the WarGames match from that year, so let’s go back to February 24, 1991 for WrestleWar ’91!

Time for some more random WCW from 1991! Why am I doing this? Because apparently I’m an idiot! Jim Ross and Paul E. Dangerously are here to call the action on this fine Saturday morning. Let’s head down to the ring for action!

We start things off with a photo recap of Austin and Taker winning the Tag Team titles at Fully Loaded. You want to see film footage of it, order the replay baby! We get the opening theme music and then JR welcomes us to Anaheim, CA where too much pyro is going off.
JR tells us that there’s going to be a tripe threat match for the Intercontinental Championship between The Rock, Triple H, and X-Pac later tonight. Lawler jizzes in his pants because he gets to present a trophy to the winner of last night’s bikini contest and Sable has promised to wear a new “Raw bikini.”

Welcome everyone to Monday Night Raw! We’re coming to you tonight live from the Manhattan Center in New York City! Vince is ecstatic to back in the building where it all started back on January 11, 1993. Jerry Lawler is with him to remind us that he called out ECW last week and apparently they’ve accepted his challenge and are here in the building, but who cares about that when we’ve got hillbillies taking on cowboys!

We get a cold open of Jerry Lawler going into Sable’s dressing room. He wants to know what kind of bikini she’s going to wear for the bikini contest. She tells him that a picture is worth a thousand words or something and offers to show him.
Sable goes behind one of those dressing screens and strips off her top and tosses it out to Lawler and then invites him behind the screen for a peak. Jerry Lawler basically has an aneurysm.
We then get a hype video for the show talking about the shit going on with Taker and Austin and wondering if they can coexist tonight when they face Kane and Mankind for the tag team titles. It’s not one of the better hype videos WWE has done, but for an In Your House PPV I guess it suffices.
