William Regal is standing outside his office as lawyers and camera people mill about. Someone asks him what’s going on and Regal informs us that he’s launching an official investigation to find out who was responsible for the attack on Aleister Black. It’s time for NXT!

It’s time for another TakeOver! For the fourth year in a row the summer TakeOver is coming to us from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The show begins with a video package hyping up the card set to the song “Blood // Water” by grandson. We then go to the Barclays Center for action. Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness, and Percy Watson are here for the call.

We open the show with clips of Ciampa winning the NXT Championship as well as what went down last week with Gargano chasing Ciampa off and taking credit for his victory over Aleister Black. We see Black lay him out. It’s time for NXT!

Time for night two of the 2018 UK Championship Tournament. We kick things off with a video package highlighting want went down on night one as well as spotlighting some of the wrestlers who will be competing tonight.
We then head back to Royal Albert Hall where we are joined by Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness once again. They run down the card. If the rebranding in the opening video package and fact that three NXT titles are on the line hadn’t made it obvious, the ring ropes are now yellow and the ring apron is emblazoned with the NXT logo, making it clear that this is now an NXT event.

The NXT Championship is on the line tonight so we start the show off with a video highlight the events leading up to tonight’s match up. Both men talk about devils and stuff. As is often the case with WWE produced video packages this was really well done and made the match between the two seem like a huge deal.

We open on a sunset-lit gymnasium. Cage, looking jacked as fuck, is doing curls when Dario Cueto opens. Cueto tells him, “I like a man who takes the bull by the horns, but, you my friend, you take the bull by the huevos,” and gives him a championship match against Prince Puma tonight.
Cage tells him that he will win the title tonight because he’s a machine. This week his declaration of being a machine is paired with a hard zoom on his eyes like something out of a 1970s kung fu movie. This owns so hard.
Time from Lucha Underground!

It’s been awhile since I’ve watched any Lucha Underground so it’s time to rectify that. We start things off with a prestige drama-esque previously on Lucha Underground recap that shows us stuff that previously happened that will undoubtedly be important in understanding this particular installment. Since it’s been over a month since I last checked out an episode from this season of LU this recap thing is invaluable to me.

We begin things this week with people in traditional Aztec garb (I guess) dancing about the ring while drummers drum. Dario Cueto is in the middle of the ring with the new Lucha Underground Championship. He tells us that tonight we are going to crown the first Lucha Underground Champion in a match he came up with completely on his own: AZTEC WARFARE!

Before this week’s episode begins we get a card dedicating it to the memory of Bruno Sammartino. We get the standard issue opening video and then it’s off to Full Sail for action. Mauro and Percy Watson are on commentary tonight with Nigel out due to the birth of his child.

We’re at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, LA for NXT TakeOver. The show begins with a shot of the crowd. A bunch of people have glowsticks for some reason. As has become the norm for TakeOvers we begin with a band (this times Cane Hill) playing live while a video hyping the show plays them. I think this is a pretty cool way to intro the show and is a better use of music than the random mid-show musical performance that will happen at Mania.
