We begin the show tonight with a video package of Titus O’Neil recruiting Tozawa and Tozawa and Neville going toe to toe in the ring this past Monday on Raw. Titus comes out and calls them dumb for wanting to fight now for free especially since he’s just gotten a match signed for Great Balls of Fire.
We get the opening video and then Corey Graves and Vic Joseph run down tonight’s card before throwing it backstage to Dasha who is standing by with Jack Gallagher.
Rich Swann and Tozawa are having a conversation in Japanese about Swann’s upcoming match with Neville. Swann says he’s going to dance his way into the title scene again. Titus O’Neil arrives to talk to Tozawa again. He says there could be a place in the Titus Brand for Swann too, but Swann’s like, “I’ll think about it, but I gotta go.” Titus tells him to do something about his hair because he’s not The Weeknd as Swann heads off.
Titus talks about how he’s ready to take the Titus Brand international and has a contract for Tozawa, but Tozawa just stares at him. Titus is like, “You drive a hard bargain,” and the offers Tozawa an extra 5% on his merchandise sales and talks about his idea for a Tozawa Towel (like the Terrible Towel but Tozawa based I suppose). Again Tozawa says nothing, so Titus tells him to think about it because on Raw next Monday he’ll have an offer that Tozawa can’t refuse.
Tonight on a very special episode of 205 Live, TJ Perkins takes on the King of the Cruiserweights, Neville, in a match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Here’s a highlight package to show how these two former allies got to this point!
Highlight reel taken care of, we get the opening credits and then head down to the ring for wrestling. As always our announcers for the evening are Corey Graves and Tom “Face Fucker” Phillips.
“Good evening, my name is The Brian Kendrick,” says The Brian Kendrick. He proceeds to narrate an account of his recent feud with Akira Tozawa and says that tonight he’s going to teach Tozawa one final lesson in a STREET FIGHT WITH WEAPONS!
We kick things off with a recap of Neville wrecking house on Rich Swann before we go live to somewhere in Florida for the most exciting hour of television that’s not actually on television! The announcers let us know that because of Neville’s heinous attack, Rich Swann is out of action this week, but we’ve got excitement nonetheless so let’s get down to the ring for action!
The first night of WWE’s Cruiserweight Classic begins with a video package where Triple H talks about the awesomeness of cruiserweight wrestling and how cruiserweights have achieved greatness and how the Cruiserweight Classic will be the next chapter in that great tradition.
For me its a chance to see wrestlers, some of whom I’d never thought to see in a WWE ring, compete and hopefully give me chance to relive the excitement I felt in watching the first hour WCW Nitro circa 1996.
