After the opening credits we head to Full Sail where Mauro gives us a run down of the matches we’ll see tonight. In addition Drew McIntyre and Andrade “Cien” Almas will sign a contract to make their championship match at TakeOver: Houston. Prepare to see a table get flipped over!
We’re back with another action packed episode of NXT. How weird is it that going into this episode I knew what the majority of the matches were going to be because they hyped them up last week during the show? Zany isn’t it?
The show begins outside the Full Sail Arena. Sanity and security geeks are all laid out. People call for Regal who shows up and tells someone to get the medics as the unknown assailants run off into the night.
Inside the arena Percy Watson is like, “It must have been those ROH guys!” and Nigel McGuiness is like, “You don’t know that. It could have been anyone.” None of this matters though because the champ is here! Continue reading “NXT (August 30, 2017)”→
We start things off with a video package highlighting TakeOver: Brooklyn III while Code Orange plays. WWE always does a solid job of video packages and highlights and this is no exception.
We head to the Barclays Center for tonight’s wrestling action which means these matches were recorded prior to TakeOver and that they’re more or less going to be wrestling for wrestling’s sake, which is fine by me.
This is the final NXT show before TakeOver: Brooklyn III and the main event will see Roderick Strong taking on the #1 contender for the NXT Championship, Drew McIntyre. If Strong wins he gets a shot at Bobby Roode at some point in the future. If McIntyre wins…uh…I don’t know. Nothing happens I guess. The stakes couldn’t be more middle of the road!
After a hype package for tonight’s main event battle between Roderick Strong and Bobby Roode and the opening credits we see footage of Roderick Strong and his family arriving at Full Sail University earlier today. We then head down to the ring for tag team action.
It’s time for another installment of NXT, coming at you previously recorded from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Tonight our main event pits two of NXT’s best strikers against one another as the undefeated Aleister Black takes on Kassius Ohno in the main event.
The show begins with a video hyping the matches between No Way Jose and Killian Dain and Hideo Itami and Oney Lorcan. We get the opening credit with their new theme song and then its on to Full Sail where the crowd is already chanting “NXT! NXT!” and then it’s on to the ring for the first match of the night.
Match 1: Killian Dain (w/ Eric Young) vs. Danny Burch
Danny Burch tries to fight Killian Dain at the bell, unloading with some strikes and kicks that Dain more or less shrugs off before he beats Burch down. He hits a slam and a running senton that lay out Burch.
The crowd starts chanting “SHAVE YOUR BACK!” at Dain. Audience participation I can appreciate. Dain does not shave his back, but instead hits some elbow drops.
