Before this week’s episode begins we get a card dedicating it to the memory of Bruno Sammartino. We get the standard issue opening video and then it’s off to Full Sail for action. Mauro and Percy Watson are on commentary tonight with Nigel out due to the birth of his child.

NXT TakeOver New Orleans (April 7, 2018)

NXT_Takeover_NewOrleans_logo

We’re at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, LA for NXT TakeOver. The show begins with a shot of the crowd. A bunch of people have glowsticks for some reason. As has become the norm for TakeOvers we begin with a band (this times Cane Hill) playing live while a video hyping the show plays them. I think this is a pretty cool way to intro the show and is a better use of music than the random mid-show musical performance that will happen at Mania.

NXT (April 4, 2018)

NXT 2017 Logo

We start things off this week with a brief video package about Dusty Rhodes and the previous Dusty Tag Team Classic events before going to the NXT Command Center where Charly Caruso is standing by. She hypes tonight’s Dusty Classic finals and confirms that Bobby Fish is injured and will be out of action this Saturday. The winners tonight will face Undisputed Era in New Orleans for the NXT Tag Team Titles.

NXT (August 23, 2017)

We start things off with a video package highlighting TakeOver: Brooklyn III while Code Orange plays. WWE always does a solid job of video packages and highlights and this is no exception.

We head to the Barclays Center for tonight’s wrestling action which means these matches were recorded prior to TakeOver and that they’re more or less going to be wrestling for wrestling’s sake, which is fine by me.

NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III (August 19, 2017)

NXT_Takeover_Brooklyn_2017

Time for a wrestling show! Time for NXT TakeOver! We kick things off with a band called Code Orange rocking out live while some sort of video package for TakeOver plays. Code Orange is pretty good and I’ll probably check them out at some point in the future.

It’s a fine way to open the show since it’s different and doesn’t really fuck with the flow of the show the way musical performances in the middle of wrestling shows generally do.

We start things off with highlights of Ciampa turning on Gargano at TakeOver Chicago as well as Ciampa’s promo afterwards. I had forgotten how angry I was at Ciampa, but this video package did the trick and my hatred came rushing back. Johnny Gargano will be here tonight!

We also see footage from last week of sad Roderick Strong hugging his mom and his fiancee after his loss to Bobby Roode in his championship match.

No opening theme song video this week since we go right to Full Sail for action!

Day Two of the WWE’s United Kingdom Championship Tournament begins with a highlight package of Day One’s matches as well as Pete Dunne being a cunt as the show went off the air. Eight men of the original sixteen remain: Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, Trent Seven, Mark Andrews, Sam Gradwell, Joseph Conners, Wolfgang and Jordan Devlin. One of these men will leave the theater tonight the inaugural WWE United Kingdom Champion!

Welcome to NXT, coming to you via tape from Chicago! These matches were all recorded during the TakeOver: Chicago event, so get ready for some filler!

Highlights for Children!

We start things off with highlights from TakeOver: Chicago to start things off. The entire damn show was a highlight, so this goes on for a couple minutes. Great show that TakeOver: Chicago was. Probably the most solid wrestling show of 2017.
